Harry Hoffman’s career was founded in impressionism, first at the Florence Griswold House in Old Lyme, Connecticut, and in his studies and travels in France. Moret sur Loing and The Seine display Hoffman’s skill as a draftsman and his talent for conveying the feeling of a place using soft effects of light.
